Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer services outside Arizona?

Yes. While based in Scottsdale, Arizona, New Dawn provides sober companion and recovery coaching services nationwide, including travel support.

Who can benefit from sober companion services?

Our services are ideal for individuals who are newly sober, transitioning from treatment, traveling, attending high-risk events, experiencing relapse concerns, or needing additional accountability and support.

Is New Dawn a medical service?

No. New Dawn does not provide medical care. We work alongside licensed professionals and treatment centers to support a client’s recovery plan through daily structure and guidance.

What services does New Dawn offer?

We offer hourly and 24/7 sober companionship, post-treatment transition support, travel accompaniment, accountability support, recovery coaching, and optional wellness-based practices such as mindfulness and grounding techniques.

How long do clients typically work with a sober companion?

The length of service varies by individual. Some clients need one time support, such as for an event (wedding, work function, family gathering, etc.), short-term support (just a few days), while others benefit from longer-term companionship (few weeks to a few months), based on their recovery goals.

What is a Recovery Coach?

A Recovery Coach is a supportive guide who helps individuals navigate the challenges of recovery while building a healthier, more balanced life. Recovery coaching focuses on accountability, encouragement, goal setting, and practical support for maintaining long-term recovery and personal growth. As someone with long-term personal recovery myself, I bring lived experience, empathy, and understanding to my work, helping clients feel supported, understood, and less alone in the recovery process.

How is Recovery Coaching Different from Therapy?

Recovery coaching is solution-based, action-oriented, and focused on the present. While therapists diagnose and treat mental health conditions, a Recovery Coach provides ongoing support, motivation, structure, and accountability as clients work toward their recovery and wellness goals. As a Recovery Coach, I also offer a greater level of accessibility and day-to-day support than a traditional once-a-week therapy model, allowing clients to receive guidance, encouragement, and accountability in real-life moments as challenges arise.

Who Can Benefit from Recovery Coaching?

Recovery coaching can benefit individuals in early recovery, those transitioning from treatment, people returning to work or family life, or anyone seeking additional support, accountability, and guidance in maintaining sobriety and emotional wellness.

Do You Offer Virtual Recovery Coaching?

Yes. Virtual coaching sessions are available for clients nationwide, offering flexible and confidential support from the comfort of home.

What Types of Support Do You Provide?

Support may include relapse prevention planning, accountability check-ins, emotional support, recovery goal setting, and guidance through the challenges of early and ongoing recovery. Services are tailored to each client’s individual needs and may also include wellness and lifestyle support, communication coaching, and help creating healthy daily routines and effective coping strategies.

Practical recovery support is also available, including assistance with recovery monitoring devices, accountability measures, and guidance surrounding reported results in a supportive and nonjudgmental manner.

Are Sober Companion and Recovery Coaching Services Confidential?

Yes. Client privacy and discretion are treated with the utmost respect. Creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment is a core part of the coaching relationship. Your personal information will never be sold, shared, or divulged with anyone without your written consent UNLESS you are an immediate danger to yourself or someone else.

Can Recovery Coaching Work Alongside Therapy or Treatment?

Absolutely. Recovery coaching can complement therapy, outpatient treatment, sober companionship, 12-step participation, wellness practices, and other recovery-supportive services as part of a holistic approach to healing.

Do you work with families and treatment providers?

Yes. With client consent, we collaborate with families, therapists, case managers, and treatment centers to ensure continuity of care.

How much do sober companion and recovery coaching services cost?

Pricing varies depending on level of care, duration, and travel needs. Transparent pricing is discussed during a confidential consultation.
